Debuting April 5, 2026: On the next Quilt Show, our guest has guts. Imagine being asked to create two very large quilts for a building under construction. And she said, "Yes!" We're talking about Tennessee's Carol Ann McCandless. Together, with help from members of her guild, she created larger than life art that lives in a luxury apartment building in an iconic area near Nashville. How did she do that? How would you even begin to start? Well, her story is heartening. Not to mention, how she went from a client's image, to the internet, to an inspiring original design, and then scaled that design.
From Ricky Tims: "Success! Thank you for making The Visitation Quilt Mural a reality. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and joy! Thanks to the generosity of donors from all over the world, the GoFundMe campaign for the Quilt Mural Project and my quilt, The Visitation, reached its goal of $25,000. Your support has made this incredible dream a reality, and we cannot thank you enough."
"During the April 2022 AQS QuiltWeek event in Paducah, KY, AccuQuilt Cutting Expert, Pam Heller, was able to visit the Flood Wall and speak with the lead project artist, Char Downs." Char is responsible for painting the quilt mural on the Flood Wall, with hopes to have the entire wall covered in painted quilt murals.
