Joyce Massey Donates Quilt to the Museum of Texas Tech University

It is with great joy that the Museum announces the recent donation of a quilt made by Dallas Quilt Guild member Joyce Massey to the collection. Mrs. Massey’s legacy of prize-winning quilts both at the Dallas Quilt Show and the State Fair of Texas is extraordinary.

Shortly after arriving at the Museum in 2014, I asked if she would consider donating a quilt because of her significance to Texas quilting. Recently we connected about the plans of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian to mount an exhibit on State Fairs in 2025 and Mrs. Massey indicated that she was ready to donate one quilt.
