Who is Nina Clotfelter?
Hello, I'm Nina Clotfelter! My last name is NOT hard...really! "CLOT" - like a blood clot...yuck! "FELT" - like I felt happy! Yippie! "ER" - then just add the er at the end. It's all one flowing word with no hiccups. SEE! You got it!
Funny story...the first time my husband heard me give this explanation of how to pronounce my new last name, he was TOTALLY SHOCKED! "WHAT did you just tell her?!" It's one of the funniest things I remember of our very early newlywed days, and has become a cherished memory for me. I wish you could have seen his face!
Anyway!
Here are a few fun things to know about me:

* Like to challenge myself to try new things!
* VERY creative! (this can keep me up at night!)
* Laughter is KEY!
* Have my OWN alphabet! (My loving husband made each letter of the alphabet describe me! It's BEAUTIFUL!!! CHERISHED!!! And Framed!)
* Completed a complex puzzle in nursery school and stunned the teachers!
* Originally from Morristown, New Jersey.
* Live In the South! Mobile, Alabama (I'm not confused!)
* Been sewing since I was 13 yrs old...(we won't say how long that is...just know it's been ALL my life! LOL!)
* Don't like my work to look like yours or anyone else's, so I'll usually do something a little different...no surprise there!
* LOVE SEWING/QUILTING!!!! LOVE!!! LOVE!!! LOVE!!!!
* Had a sewing school in my home for 8 years and ALWAYS had a waiting list!
* LOVE!!! LOVE!!! Teaching Quilting!!!
* I'm a little quirky? But FUN quirky...right?
My family...
I've been blessed to be married to an AMAZING man since 1987! Howard is my soul mate! We've given each other the same Anniversary cards, same Christmas presents, same Valentine's cards....it's super funny, and total confirmation! He supports and encourages me in my teaching and anything else I do! He's learned a LOT about quilting and can now give an educated opinion. We have 2 WONDERFUL children! Our oldest is our daughter and she got married in October 2016! They've given us 2 BEAUTIFUL grandsons whom we ADORE!!! Our son is a Marine, and he just married a wonderful young lady February 2020. We CAN'T leave out our 2 cats! Each is a rescue we found and gave a home to. Hershey, and Lexi. They follow us around the house and are ALWAYS in the room we're in! Sweet things! (BUT...you WON'T find them in my sewing room!)
I have a passion for free motion quilting! There is SO much freedom to do anything you wish and ability to express your creativity. Free motion quilting does NOT have to be an expensive endeavor! NO long arm is necessary! You can use your DOMESTIC sewing machine! ALL the quilts on this website have been sewn and quilted on my domestic sewing machine! Come on! Play with me!
There is Nothing more fun and satisfying than to share what you love with others who then become successful! Traveling and teaching are two of my favorite things. My most favorite thing in life is meeting new wonderful quilters! Quilters are the most caring, sharing, loving, generous people of any "group" known! I look forward to meeting you!
