Do a puzzle of Angie E. Knowles' quilt, Black Jewel #1.
Black Jewel #1 is one of the earlier pieces made by Angie after she had taken a two-year program with Jane Dunnewold. What she learned most from that program was how to work with color. This quilt began as all black fabric, with Angie removing the color and then adding it back in to create the beautiful colored hexagons that dance throughout. The piece was inspired by one of her favorite artists, Mondrian, and his work that is defined by black lines that surround patches of color.
