Featured Quilt - Third Place Animal Kingdom at Houston 2025
Tinker Bell by Karmen Brister won Third Place - Animal Kingdom (Sponsored by French European Dress Forms) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2025. Karmen says, "I took a picture of my son’s bulldog, Tinker Bell, snoozing. I knew I had to paint this picture and bring it to life. As ink flowed, painting her sleepy folds was irresistible; then, threadpainting detailed each crease meticulously, mimicking her skin’s texture. Stitches brought out depth, capturing her relaxed form while tracing the contours of her skin and every slumbering wrinkle."

Something You'll Need to Know if You're Making the Prints BOM
Barbara Black, The Quilt Show's resident Block Of the Month expert, has some important information for you regarding next year's BOM, Game On! designed by Becky Goldsmith. In watching Alex Anderson's recent video where she went through the newly arrived Prints Kit for the BOM, Barbara noticed that Alex forgot to mention that the smaller package contained within the kit is for the Medallion center, which is important. Barbara will also go over this again and provide more information during her LIVE broadcasts on December 5, 2025 and December 29, 2025.
She says, "The PRINTS KIT is beautiful! The more than 17 yards of luscious print fabrics are divided into two separate packages that will let you create your own unique quilt. The smaller package is for the Medallion center, the larger package is for the many borders to come over the entire year. You are sure to love them all. Get yours while they are still available. Supplies are limited and when they’re gone, they are gone!"

Share The Warmth
From Patricia Belyea at Okan Arts: "Please take a moment to donate to the Pacific NW Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum in La Conner.
The historic mansion that houses the Museum is facing a critical challenge: two failing furnaces and a failing hot water heater. These essential systems must be replaced to keep the doors open and ensure the Museum can present its impressive lineup of exhibits in the new year.
The goal is to raise $50,000 by year-end — and every contribution truly matters." |

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Transitional Quilt |

"Transitions" by Marci Baker
For Transitions, Marci worked with new blocks and sizes that her 3-D Magic! co-author Sara Nephew designed. The transitions of the title occur as the pink blocks at the top become the blue ones on the bottom, using light, medium, and dark variations of the different fabrics to create the 3-D vision. She and Sara call the top blocks "Peek-A-Boo", followed by a traditional block, and then the bottom ones are "I See You" blocks.
