Featured Quilt - First Place Miniatures at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2026

Festival De Estrellas by Kumiko Frydl won First Place - Miniatures at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2026. It is hard to appreciate all the work that went into this mini masterpiece from just a couple of photos, but that's why we have quilt judges to view it up close. Kumiko's efforts did not go unrewarded, as her quilt also won 1st Prize in the Miniature Quilts category at  The Festival of Quilts 2025. At that show, the judges said of Kumiko's work,  "Masterful use of colour in the design which has been beautifully executed with amazing attention to detail." And when we say miniature, we do mean MINI, as this quilt measures just 12" by 12", only a little bit bigger than the butterflies flying all over the quilt, the title of which translates to "Star Festival".

A Quilt That Tells A Story fro the Southern Point of View

Learn About Susan Robb's Masterpiece

Susan Robb created this masterpiece for her stepson William Henry Robb in the 1860s.  He served in the Confederate Army.  It is one of the few remaining quilts to show the southern point of view of the Civil War. As such it has been exhibited around the country in many exhibits and remains probably the most important quilt in the Museum at Texas Tech University’s collection.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Vital Vegetable Quilt

"Eat Your Veggies" by Laura Fogg

Eat Your Veggies is representative of the themes that resonate in Laura's life and mean more to her than anything. Those themes are what she calls the "F's", which are farm, food, and family, and they show up in pretty much every quilt she makes. Eat Your Veggies is all three wrapped up into one, and is full of sight gags, like kitchen tools, plants, and other personal items near and dear to Laura and her family that when they see them will make them smile.
