Featured Quilt - First Place Windham Artisan Cottons Fabric Challenge at QuiltCon 2026

Momentum by Michaela Romesburg won First Place in the Windham Artisan Cottons Fabric Challenge (Sponsored by Windham Fabrics) at QuiltCon 2026. Michaela says about her inspiration behind her quilt, "I always feel best when I find the right momentum that provides balance and ease; finding that sweet spot when working on a project or task is optimal. I hope this quilt translates the feeling of just the right amount of momentum through shape and color. Laying out the stripes from a dark center to light borders creates the illusion of depth and movement. Techniques used are FPP based on the classic log cabin block."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Looking To Break Free

"Locked In The Log Cabin" by Jane Dunnewold

Locked In The Log Cabin was Jane's very first quilt that she made around 1978. Based on a traditional log cabin design, Jane knew her limitations and left piecing behind soon after this quilt. Its title comes from the soft sculpture figure that adorns the quilt in the bottom right square, looking to break free from its log cabin prison.
