Featured Quilt - Best Movable Machine Workmanship Award at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2026
Maze of Vines and Roses by Judy Garden won Best Movable Machine Workmanship Award at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2026. Judy's quilt was featured previously in the Appliqué category (Sponsored by The Quilt Show) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. Where did inspiration strike for Judy's work? She says, "a stone step at a Charleston hotel inspired the vines on the quilt and beautiful fabric inspired the rest of the design."
As for how the rest of the quilt came together, Judy had this to say: "I started this in 2018 after discovering the red and white fabric in a store in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The top border was done in a few months, and then it hung on my design wall for the next five years. I usually design from the center outward so this design process was a tough one, trying to make the center work with the border. After numerous drawings and a final push at the beginning of this year, I finally finished this well-loved quilt." |

Trim The Fat and Find the Creative Heart of Your Next Project
Meet Tiffany Hayes, a prolific designer who creates dozens of patterns each year. Like many quilters, her journey began 35 years ago with a quilt for an expected baby, and it soon blossomed into a thriving quilting business featuring magazine publications, lectures, teaching, and fabric design. Tiffany demonstrates two methods for making triangle units—using pre-cut charm squares and ombre fabric by the yard—both offering a wide variety of quilt design possibilities.
Then, meet Dr. Christi Bonds-Garrett, a holistic medical professional and passionate fiber artist who finds both joy and restorative energy in the creative process.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Reinventing The "Wheel" |

"Legacy Wheel #2" by Tara Miller
Legacy Wheel #2 is another variation of Tara's Legacy Wheel quilt. She made it because she loves to show things in different fabrics, and this version of the quilt felt like Christmas to her, albeit a little bit of a non-traditional one. Tara loves to use prints as a background instead of solids, and Legacy Wheel #2 provided a great opportunity to switch things up and put that into play here.
