"Spring Explosion" by Sharon Engel won First Place - Traditional in the "A Celebration of Color" Judged Show (sponsored by eQuilter.com) at Houston International Quilt Festival 2023. Using JoAnn Webb's Heralding Spring pattern as her design source, Sharon had this to say about why she wanted to make this quilt, "I love spring, and I love flowers. This pattern had me at the Lily of the Valley flower, which is my favorite."

The British Museum: What's The Story In The Bayeux Tapestry?

"What Story Does the Bayeux Tapestry Tell?"


From The British Museum: "Discover one of the world's most famous medieval objects and uncover the dramatic events that lead to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Stretching nearly 70 metres, the Bayeux Tapestry is far more than a remarkable piece of embroidery. It tells a story of ambition, rivalry and conquest that changes England forever."


The Bayeux Tapestry will be on display at the British Museum in London, England for the first time in almost a 1,000 years beginning in September 2026 through July 2027.
