Featured Quilt - Eternally Beautifully
Eternal Beauty by Zena Thorpe was featured in the Handmade category (Sponsored by Fat Quarter Shop) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2025. Zena's quilt incorporates a mixture of hand appliqué, hand embellishment, hand embroidery, and hand quilting, along with a small amount of stuffing and crochet to achieve its striking beautiful look. Zena says of the design, "The Celtic knot symbolizes eternity, and nature's flowers are eternally beautiful."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: The Ticking of the Clock |

"Tick Tock" by Becky Goldsmith
Tick Tock is named as such for the Focus fabric in the center which features, you guessed it, clocks. As has been said before, Becky likes to find or create a challenge, a game to play if you will, with each quilt she makes. For Tick Tock that challenge was that she didn't use rulers anywhere when she made it. She started with the idea of each block, and she hand cut each piece without any templates. They are appliquéd, and the backgrounds are improvisationally pieced. So while it looks linear and balanced, she didn't even square it up with a ruler.
