Featured Quilt - The View from Seattle
Chosen Hometown by Rosell Crockett was featured in the Tactile Architecture exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2025. Inspired by the Seattle skyline, Rosell's quilt fits right into the criteria for being a part of the Tactile Architecture exhibit: "This annual juried exhibit challenges quiltmakers to create works based on architectural themes and inspirations in any style."
About her quilt, Rosell says, "This is a classic view of the Seattle skyline from Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill; a dark and moody night filled with the iconic buildings downtown. I wove satin ribbon through striped and solid fabric to achieve the small windows, and a tiny red French knot on top of the Space Needle."

Start Your 2026 BOM Off the Right with Barbara Black By Your Side
We're only two days into the new year and some of you have already gotten a jump start on Game On!, The Quilt Show's 2026 Block Of the Month designed by Becky Goldsmith. For those that haven't, there's no rush, and if you need a little help we've got your back. As with each of our BOMs, Barbara Black is returning to provide the info you'll need to succeed with Becky's design.
Barbara says, "In Month 1 we make the center star points. Becky uses vellum for the foundation paper piecing, sewing through the paper. I will show how I use Freezer paper, not sewing through the paper, so the freezer paper foundations can be used many times."

The Bayeux Tapestry is Coming to London for a Major Exhibition at the British Museum from September 2026 to July 2027
Nicholas Cullinan, Director of the British Museum, said: 'The Bayeux Tapestry is one of the most important and unique cultural artefacts in the world, which illustrates the deep ties between Britain and France and has fascinated people across geographies and generations. It is hard to overstate the significance of this extraordinary opportunity of displaying it at the British Museum and we are profoundly grateful to everyone involved. This will be the first time the Bayeux Tapestry has been in the UK since it was made, almost 1,000 years ago.' |

"Game On! (Solids Version)" by Becky Goldsmith
What better way is there to kick off the new year than with a puzzle of the 2026 Block Of the Month, Game On! by Becky Goldsmith. This is the solids version, and it was quilted by another TQS favorite, Lauren Vlcek. Inspired by vintage carnival game boards from the Folk Art Museum in New York City, Game On! is a celebration of imagination, craftsmanship, and joyful design. The quilt’s intriguing medallion center takes its cues from a mysterious old game board—beautifully off-balance and endlessly fascinating—while borders mix traditional and quirky motifs that can be rearranged to make your quilt uniquely yours.
