Featured Quilt - First Place Hand Quilted Quilts at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2026
Tangerine Tango by Jan Frazer won First Place - Hand Quilted Quilts at AQS QuiltWeek - Daytona Beach 2026. This hand quilted marvel took its inspiration from a bed covering from the mid 18th-century. Jan says, "I was inspired by a coverlet in the Victoria and Albert Museum. I enjoyed deciding the shape and placement of the flowers to get a cohesive overall design. The real fun started as the colors and fabrics were selected. I mainly worked on the appliqué at my weekly Wednesday quilting group and the close-up hand quilting was completed over several years. I loved the whole process, though at the end, I just wanted to finish it."

Learn to Feel The Freedom of Free-Motion Quilting
Nina Clotfelter believes machine quilting shouldn’t be intimidating. With practice, skill will come, and perfection isn’t the goal. In our brand new show, she covers the basics of machine setup, proper hand placement, and speed control, encouraging quilters to start with motifs that feel comfortable and build confidence gradually. Then she shares tips for stitching simple loopty-loops, showing how easily you can change direction—or even turn them into flowers with a few added circles—making quilting both approachable and creative.

"Something Fishy" by Gail Garber
Something Fishy is a quilt that Gail just had fun making, so much so that she created a pattern of it for everyone to enjoy. Claiming it is both the happiest and "dumbest" quilt she has made, Gail loved making the fishes and working on their funky fins. She writes about its creation, "Whimsy, inspired by the birth of my grandson! These fanciful fishies include flying geese, flying diamonds, and pointy dudes, complete with racing stripes.
