Featured Quilt - Viewer's Choice Award at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2026

Wild Goose Island by May Black received the Rowenta Viewer's Choice Award at AQS QuiltWeek - Daytona Beach 2026. Quilted by Cindy Baker, and using the Wild Goose Island pattern by Judy & Bradley Niemeyer (Quiltworx.com, 2022) as its design source, May had this to say about how Wild Goose Island came together:

"I just love a colorful quilt! Everything in my life must have lots of color, whether it be clothes or quilts. Color makes me happy! This quilt has been in the works for 2 years. It started with a Zoom class in 2023. I finished the top and didn't send it to Cindy until 2024. I added the binding, quilt sleeve, and label in 2025. I set a challenge to use fabric from my stash, without buying additional fabric. It worked!"

Reminder: Star Members, today, April 15, 2026, is the last day to add your quilts to the current quilt gallery if you’d like to see your quilts in the new gallery on day one when we transition over. You will not be able to add quilts right at launch—but don’t worry, that feature is coming.

"What A Show!" To See with Carol Ann McCandless

You're Going To Feel Large and In Charge After Watching This Show

Carol Ann McCandless has taken her years of experience as a professional longarmer, and time working as a floral designer and at Ethan Allen, to successfully mount making not one, but TWO, very large scale quilts with both passion and creativity. This vibrant love of her craft has been infectious, and our TQS members just love what they are seeing (including our return to Paducah for the fabulous quilt murals):

"Such an amazing show - Carol Ann was a true creative, a delight and inspirational to watch and the bonus was Paducah - what a show! Thank you TQS." - @promisso

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Going Down The River

"Tour of the Mediterranean #2" by Judy Ahlborn

Tour of the Mediterranean #2 is one in a series of quilts Judy created highlighting sites in the Mediterranean that were inspired by pictures she took while on a cruise with her daughter after she graduated college. Since they didn't get many souvenirs, the photos were their souvenirs and she wanted to create quilts with them to hang in her home and remind her of their trip together. This one features a beautiful view of the Arno River as is passes through Florence, Italy, all captured in terrific textiles.

See more of Judy's quilts in How to Create Digital Collage Quilts with Judith Ahlborn.
