Featured Quilt - First Place Modern Traditionalism at QuiltCon 2026
Look Close Judge Me by Tara Evans won First Place - Modern Traditionalism (Sponsored by String & Story) at QuiltCon 2026. Tara's quilt shares and embraces a message that all quilters can understand, that our mistakes do not define us and are a part of becoming a better quilter. She says, "Look close. Come and judge me. Inspect my art. I display myself for your approval and enjoyment. This is me embracing the discomfort that can come with putting your artwork on display. I purposely left my mistakes all along the way, circling them in red hand quilting."

National Gallery of Victoria Melbourne: Observations - Inside the World of Regency Fashion with Hilary Davidson |

Taking a Look at Fashion That Was "as Daring as it was Demure"
From the National Gallery of Victoria Melbourne: "From the 'little white dress’ in every woman's wardrobe to voluminous sleeves, bold necklines and romantic plaids and tartans, fashion of the long Regency era (1795-1820s) was as daring as it was demure. As part of Observations, US-based fashion historian and author Hilary Davidson explores the detail, craftspersonship and evolution of women’s fashion in the Regency era." |

A Fan Favorite Exhibit Returns with an All New Theme
The National Quilt Museum's New Quilts From An Old Favorite exhibit has returned, this time with a focus on food. A challenge was sent out to quilters to create a quilt under the following conditions: "The quilt must be about food in some recognizable way and include an interpretation of a block pattern of the artist’s choosing." As usual, a wide variety of spectacular original designs have been chosen that whole heartedly, or should we say whole stomached-ly, embraced the theme of food, and are now on display at the museum.
New Quilts From An Old Favorite: Food is on display at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky now through July 28, 2026. |

WeAllSew Tutorial: Easy Quilt Facing |

Easy As One, Two, Three
Hayley Grzych at WeAllSew has a great tutorial on how to create an Easy Quilt Facing. This technique creates an elegant, seamless-looking finish on the front side of the quilt that’s very popular for art quilts or wall hangings and you don't have to worry about single fold, double fold, bias or straight of grain...and not a mitered corner in site. |

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Crossing "Oceans of Love" |

"Oceans of Love" by Carol Ann McCandless
Oceans of Love was several years in the making for Carol Ann. It features a very old Hawaiian flower pattern that she just fell in love with, and purchased at JOANN Fabrics. Knowing that she wanted to make it, she began by just doing block by block without realizing where it was going to end up. After getting the blocks done, Carol Ann decided to create the outer border replicating the ocean waves as they reach the beach. The perimeter of the border features fun little ocean-related designs quilted in and hidden throughout, like mermaids and ships.
